Oxygen Activeplay Salford Quays: indoor playpark review

Oxygen Activeplay at MediaCity in Salford Quays offers a large indoor play area with giant inflatables, trampolines, sensory corridors and interactive rooms, making it a strong option for families on rainy days. Open play tickets for a 60-minute session cost £15.95, with socks an additional £3 per person.

What the play area offers

Visitors enter through the Quayside mall and pass through bright, sensory corridors and interactive rooms before reaching the main play arena. A standout feature is the giant laundry machine room, complete with bubbles floating on air and large washing powder boxes that can be built into towers.

Inside the main play area, interconnected trampolines allow groups and families to jump together. There is also an assault course, climbing frames, giant inflatables, a large air bag for leaping onto from a high platform, and a twisty tunnel slide. A dedicated under-5s play space is set back from the main area for younger children.

Premium rides and food

Two premium rides are available for an additional fee. The Sky Rider, priced at £6 extra, is a zipline-style ride aimed at older kids that glides over the arena track. Darcie, aged nine, met the 135cm height requirement and enjoyed it enough to go again. The High Ropes, at £4.95 extra, is for children at least 120cm tall and involves navigating planks and rope bridges in safety harnesses above the trampolines.

The on-site café offers kid's meals at £5 until the end of August, including a main, a drink, and a choice of ice cream cone, cornet or fruit. A 'Chicken Feast' sharing deal includes chicken tenders, wings, fries and a jug of juice. Hot drinks cost £4.25 and come with unlimited refills.
