Hibernian ban Block Seven ultras for three matches after disorder
Hibernian ban Block Seven ultras for three matches

Hibernian FC have banned the Block Seven ultras group from their next three fixtures following disorder at a number of recent matches. No supporters from the group will be allowed at the upcoming home matches against Falkirk and Celtic, as well as the away trip to St Mirren.

Ban follows police charges and Tannadice incidents

The move comes a day after Police Scotland confirmed a further 10 people were charged in connection with disorder at Hibs' match against St Johnstone last month. More incidents have followed, and Hibs said in a statement the three-match ban is a result of events at Tannadice during their match with Dundee United on Saturday, October 10.

It is the second time this season Block Seven have faced a ban by the club, after a previous one-match ban forced the group out of the club's 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock in September. Hibs confirmed investigations into the disorder at Tannadice are continuing and further action may follow.

Club statement on sanctions and safety

A spokesperson for the club said: "Following initial investigations, Hibernian Football Club can confirm that the Block Seven supporter group has been banned from our next three fixtures - against Falkirk and Celtic at Easter Road and away to St Mirren - after incidents that occurred after our William Hill Premiership fixture away to Dundee United on Saturday, October 10."

"The club has discussed this sanction with the SPFL. This three-match sanction follows a one-match ban issued as a result of an incident occurring earlier this season."

"The club’s investigation into the events at Tannadice is ongoing, and we will continue to work with supporters, Police Scotland and Dundee United FC. Further action, including additional sanctions on an individual and/or collective basis, will be considered once that process is complete."

"The safety and wellbeing of every supporter who attends our matches is a top priority for the football club. No one should feel unsafe or uncomfortable when supporting Hibernian, and behaviour that puts others at risk is unacceptable."

"We thank our supporters for their continued backing and want to reassure them that the club will continue to address unacceptable conduct so as to not undermine the experience of the wider Hibs support."
