A grandfather who died in a crash has been described as the "kindest, most caring man" by his devastated family. Brian Mark Gough, from Caerphilly, died in a single-vehicle crash in Ystrad Mynach on July 29.
Emergency response
Emergency services, including the Wales Air Ambulance, ambulance crews and police were called to Caerphilly Road at around 9.30am, but Mr Gough died at the scene. Gwent Police said 64-year-old Mr Gough was driving a Vauxhall Astra and no other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Family tribute
Now, his grieving family have issued a tribute to him, saying he was a loving husband, grandfather and the kindest, most caring man. They said: "Mark was a loving husband to Lynda of 39 years, father to Sophie and Amy, grandfather, son, and brother, loved by all his family and friends.
"His love of life shone through every day. He was the kindest, most caring man, who loved golf, Cardiff Devils ice hockey, joking, music, food, and treasured spending time with his granddaughter, who he thought the world of."He was so proud of his two daughters and all they have achieved in their lives.
"He was so very loved and will be greatly missed. We know he's gone to a better place, joining his beloved father, Brian, whom we lost two years ago.
"Mark's family would like to thank all the emergency services and members of the public who assisted at the scene.
"We are all heartbroken and will miss you so much, but we know you're playing golf in the sky. Love you lots, like Jelly Tots."
