FA Cup qualifying draw: North East clubs learn fate

The FA Cup fourth-round qualifying draw has taken place, with Gateshead, South Shields and Spennymoor Town among the 64 teams learning their next opponents.

Five rounds have passed, and the competition has reached its final qualifying stage. Non-league sides have been battling to get a taste of the magic of the FA Cup.

Teams in the draw

A total of 64 teams feature in the fourth-round qualifying draw: 40 teams that advanced from the third-round qualifying and the 24 National League sides, who enter the competition at this stage.

One of these clubs is Gateshead, who are in the midst of a financial crisis and could, it goes without saying, do with a cup run. South Shields are also in the hat after they bested Buxton in the previous round, as are Spennymoor Town, who impressed with a 4-1 victory over Chester.

Draw details

The draw got underway at 2pm, with the outcomes revealing the next stage for the north east clubs involved.
