The empty space on Wood Street is set to reopen as DeeDee's Den & Dive, a new venture billed as "Diego's little sister" and the latest addition to a popular city centre dive bar concept. The venue will occupy the back room of Black Rabbit Shot Co, whose main entrance sits on Fleet Street at the other side of the building.
New chapter for the alternative scene
In 2024, the team behind the original Krazyhouse site returned to revive the alternative scene with the opening of K1 Metal Club, a spiritual successor to Krazyhouse's first floor and the city's only dedicated heavy metal venue. K1 moved into the Camel Club space next door and was soon joined by its own sister site, Diego's Demise, a rock-focused dive bar.
This new chapter, named DeeDee's Den & Dive, will breathe new life into the empty premises. The multi-floor venue will feature live music, free jukebox tunes and late-night American comfort food, occupying Black Rabbit's backroom, which was most recently used by Sotto.
Two floors of music and food
DeeDee's brands itself as a "haven for music lovers and late-night revellers", promoting live music spanning country, classic rock, rock and roll and "big singalong floor-fillers", alongside an extensive menu of flavoured whiskies. The venue will span two floors, beginning with a phased opening on September 12. The upstairs Den will open its doors first, serving American pancakes and bacon butties, with the basement Dive set to follow shortly after and licensed until late.
DeeDee's will also showcase emerging local talent, with management currently scouting local solo acts, duos and trios across the region.
