Chester Zoo has brought back its £10 afternoon tickets, giving families a cheaper way to visit before summer ends. The offer runs until September 6, and the attraction has also extended its opening hours to 6pm.
What the £10 ticket includes
For £10 per ticket, visitors can enter the zoo from 3pm to 6pm any day of the week, including weekends. Last entry is at 5pm. The reduced price applies to adults, juniors and children. Toddlers aged 1-2 cost £2.50, and under-1s go free.
The zoo previously offered reduced afternoon admission in June, and this marks the return of the discounted tickets. Chester Zoo is officially ranked as the UK's best zoo by Tripadvisor.
What to see at the zoo
Located in Upton-by-Chester, Cheshire, the zoo opened in 1931 and is one of the UK's largest. It is home to animals including tigers, elephants, penguins, giraffes and orangutans.
Regular visitors can spot new arrivals such as Rana the babirusa piglet and Womble the aardvark. The 130-acre site offers plenty to explore during the afternoon visit.
How to buy tickets
Afternoon tickets must be booked online in advance through the online ticket shop and cannot be bought in person at the zoo. Visitors with disabilities may admit one accompanying carer free of charge when they pay for an afternoon adult or child ticket online. Carer tickets can be collected from the Ticket Sales windows on arrival.
