Liverpool will discover their eight opponents in the 2026/27 Champions League league phase this evening. The draw takes place in Monaco at 5pm, with the Reds among 29 teams already assured of their place after qualifying automatically at the end of last season.
Liverpool are in pot one and, in principle, cannot play a fellow Premier League side or more than two teams from any one country. UEFA rules also prevent the Reds from being drawn at home to Real Madrid in this season's league phase.
Fixture restrictions and pairings
The Reds have faced the Spanish giants at Anfield in the competition's opening section for the past two campaigns, but UEFA rules mean the same fixture occurring in the league phase for three successive years is not allowed. However, it is worth noting that Andoni Iraola's side could end up facing Real at the Bernabeu.
Each team will be paired with two teams from Pots 1 to 4 to make up their eight league phase matches. Four are played at home and four are played away, and English sides cannot be paired with other English sides.
