Virgil van Dijk has suggested Liverpool could make further additions this summer following the club's £265million spending spree. The Reds have signed seven players so far, including Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for a deal worth up to £79m, but the captain hinted more business may be on the horizon.
Speaking during Liverpool's pre-season tour in Hong Kong, Van Dijk said: "Let's see what happens for the rest of the transfer window. I think we've done great additions to the team so far." His comments come amid reports that the club are considering a move for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, who has reportedly told the Magpies he wants to explore his options.
Liverpool made an enquiry for Isak before securing Ekitike, and the Swedish international has been left out of Newcastle's pre-season tour. A fee of £125m could be required to prise him away from St James' Park. Meanwhile, Andy Robertson praised the new arrivals, saying they have settled in "really quickly."
The club have also brought in Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Armin Pesci, Freddie Woodman, and Giorgi Mamardashvili. With potential departures including Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Harvey Elliott, Liverpool retain significant financial firepower to complete more deals before the window closes.
