Atletico set for Cucurella talks
Atletico Madrid are set to open talks with Chelsea over signing Marc Cucurella. Ben Jacobs reports that the La Liga side are after a new left-back, but they don’t want to spend any more than €50million to get their man. Cucurella still has three years left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, but looks as though his future at the club is uncertain.
Arsenal cool Fernandes interest
Arsenal have cooled interest in West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, according to multiple reports. The Sun claim that the Gunners have backed off in the pursuit for the Portuguese, with Manchester United, according to The Times, now thought to be leading the race to sign the £80million-rated man. Spurs close on Porro contract
Tottenham are closing in on a new contract for Pedro Porro, according to Fabrizio Romano. Arsenal after Tzolis
Arsenal are thinking about a deal for Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge. The Athletic report that the Gunners are eyeing a €40million deal for the winger, who has lit up the Belgian Pro League. It is believed that their interest in Tzolis does not impact their keenness on a deal for Morgan Rogers, who they are also tracking.
Arsenal eye move for Ander Barrenetxea
A new Arsenal transfer target has emerged in the form of Ander Barrenetxea. The Spain winger, 24, has spent the entirety of his senior career so far in LaLiga with Real Sociedad. But according to The Sun, Arsenal are now weighing up a potential summer move for Barrenetxea, who they also say has been scouted by north London rivals Tottenham. However, the Gunners are said to be reluctant to meet the £65m asking price for a former team-mate of Martin Zubimendi’s who also came through the same youth academy as Mikel Arteta.
Manchester United beat Arsenal to Mateus Fernandes
Manchester United have beaten Arsenal in the race for Mateus Fernandes, reports claim. Both clubs have been heavily linked with the highly-rated Portuguese midfielder, whose exit from West Ham this summer looks guaranteed following their relegation from the Premier League. But according to The Times, Fernandes is now set to move to Old Trafford in a transfer worth approximately £80m.
Arsenal fans excited for Rogers transfer
In England’s final pre-World Cup warm-up fixture against Costa Rica on Wednesday night (UK time), both Morgan Rogers and Eberechi Eze were introduced just after the hour mark as second half substitutes. With Rogers operating centrally and Eze playing as a left-sided number eight, it meant the pair were close together for their 20+ minutes on the pitch and many Arsenal supporters were left encouraged by what they saw. Of course, it remains to be seen if Rogers and Eze do become team-mates at club level this summer, but Gunners fans believe the former has passed his audition with flying colours.
Bayern to sign Brown
Bayern Munich are closing in on the signing of Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt. Reports in Germany claim talks between both clubs are advancing rapidly, with a deal worth around €55m now moving towards the final stages.
