Cristian Romero and Djed Spence are set to complete their respective exits from Tottenham imminently.
Versatile England full-back Spence touched down in Milan on Thursday night as he prepares to undergo a medical at Inter after the Serie A champions agreed a deal with Spurs earlier this week worth around £25.6million.
His departure comes despite an impressive World Cup campaign, with Spence eager to secure more regular playing time instead of remaining as back-up to first-choice right-back Pedro Porro, who signed a new five-year contract in north London earlier this summer.
Spurs' spending spree
Spurs are actively looking to maximise player sales before the September 1 transfer deadline in order to offset an ambitious spending spree that has seen them lavish more than £260m on six new signings so far in the current window.
The 26-year-old will follow England team-mate John Stones to the San Siro after the latter joined Inter last month as a free agent following his exit from Manchester City, while the Nerazzurri are also expected to renew their interest in Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones after loaning Italy international Davide Frattesi to Lazio.
Romero's move to Madrid
Meanwhile, Spurs captain Romero is also expected to have a medical in Spain on Friday as he finalises a switch to Atletico Madrid for £34m including add-ons.
Tottenham have also inserted a 15 per cent sell-on clause into the deal for Romero, whose exit will leave them needing to appoint a new club skipper for the second time in the space of 12 months.
Barcelona were linked with the Argentina international and Inter also held initial talks over his signing, while Arsenal registered their interest in a shock deal. However, Spurs are understood to have never entertained any prospect of selling him to their arch-rivals.
Romero's Spurs career
Romero's exit from Tottenham this summer had long been anticipated as he seeks a fresh challenge elsewhere after four seasons. He missed the end of last season with a knee injury but returned to play in all but one game as Argentina reached a second successive World Cup final in North America this summer.
Romero was the subject of more criticism last term for his disciplinary issues on the pitch and more games sat out through suspension, while he angered Tottenham fans by flying to Argentina ahead of their crucial last-day showdown with Everton. He returned to London ahead of the game and was present as Spurs won 1-0 to secure their Premier League survival under head coach Roberto De Zerbi at the expense of rivals West Ham.
