Swansea City's hopes of signing Senegalese midfielder Ousseynou Fall Seck are fading due to visa complications under post-Brexit rules, with the player now more likely to move to Europe. The Swans had agreed a fee with Danish club Randers for the 19-year-old, but his inability to secure a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) from the Football Association has jeopardised the deal.
Visa issues block Fall Seck move
Fall Seck's three appearances for Senegal were initially thought to meet the 15-point threshold required for a GBE, but those appearances came in the African Nations Championship, a competition not recognised by the FA. As a result, he is now believed to have fallen just short of the required points.
Swansea can apply to the FA for an exception, but the chances of success are unknown, and it is unclear if they intend to do so. Sources insist Fall Seck is still desperate to join the Swans, but French side Toulouse have made a rival offer, while German clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz have also shown interest.
Other targets and potential exits
Meanwhile, Valencia's Andre Almeida is another player Swansea like, but Spanish press reports suggest he has turned down a move to south Wales and is waiting for an offer from Celta. Rabby Nzingoula has joined West Bromwich Albion, with club insiders strongly disputing reports that Swansea were keen on the Frenchman.
Zan Vipotnik's future remains a major talking point, with Hull City having a bid of around £10m rejected last week. Hull are currently the only side known to have made a serious offer, despite interest from West Ham United and Benfica. Florian Bianchini and Zeidane Inoussa are also expected to be moved on before the deadline.
