Swansea City have confirmed Zeidane Inoussa has joined Polish top-flight side Gornik Zabrze on loan for the remainder of the 2026-27 season.
Move follows failed deadline-day departure
The 24-year-old winger was omitted from Swansea's initial 25-man EFL squad earlier this month after failing to secure a move away from the club on transfer deadline day.
Inoussa came close to joining Portsmouth on loan on September 1, only for the proposed move to Fratton Park to fall through.
The former Sweden Under-21 international was subsequently linked with Croatian side Osijek, although Swansea later confirmed no deal had been agreed between the clubs, despite reports suggesting the player had failed a medical.
Head coach backs winger to find form
With the transfer windows in a number of countries remaining open after the English deadline, Swansea head coach Vitor Matos had left the door open for Inoussa to depart.
That has now happened, with the winger moving to Gornik Zabrze for the season.
Swansea confirmed the move on Friday, saying Inoussa is joining the Polish club as he looks to secure regular game time following an injury-disrupted first campaign in SA1.
Matos said: "We hope he makes an impact [at Gornik Zabrze]. He's a wonderful kid, a really good professional.
"He just needs game-time and consistency in playing. I think that's what he wants as well so it's a good option in terms of finding that.
"We are here for him and hopefully everything goes right."
Injury-hit spell at Swansea
Inoussa joined Swansea from Swedish club BK Hacken in the summer of 2025 for a significant fee, but his first season in the Championship was disrupted by injury.
He made 29 appearances for the Swans in all competitions, scoring once in the FA Cup against West Bromwich Albion.
However, he did not feature after January after suffering a stress fracture in his back and was unable to build any real momentum.
Competition for places in the wide areas has subsequently increased under Matos, with Inoussa not included in any of Swansea's matchday squads so far this season.
Swansea retain an option to recall Inoussa in January, while the player remains under contract with the club until 2030.
The Swans had initially left one space available in their 25-man EFL squad, meaning Inoussa could potentially have been added later in the campaign if required. Instead, he will now likely spend the remainder of the season in Poland.
