The 2026 summer transfer window will close on Tuesday, September 1, at 11pm BST. This marks a return to a more traditional closing time, after the previous two summer windows shut at 7pm.
Should any potential transfers go right down to the wire, clubs can submit a ‘deal sheet’, a form which, if completed in time, can give clubs a few extra hours to exchange documents and complete their purchases.
Record-breaking deals already completed
This window has already seen an unprecedented number of huge deals. Morgan Rogers has joined Chelsea for £117million, while Tottenham have broken their transfer record twice, including the £100m signing of Sandro Tonali. Spurs are also looking to add Savinho and Omar Marmoush from Manchester City.
Arsenal remain determined to sign a new left-sided attacker and will continue to pursue Julian Alvarez for the remainder of the window. Manchester United will sign Carlos Baleba and could still add a new left-back.
Liverpool's pursuit of PSG pair
Liverpool want to sign Paris Saint-Germain pair Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye in a double deal which could cost well in excess of £150m. They also remain keen on Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh in a deal which could see Cody Gakpo join Spurs.
Other windows and January dates
The transfer windows in Spain, Italy and Germany close earlier in the evening. Both the Women's Super League and Scottish Premier League windows close at 5pm on Thursday, September 3.
The January window will open on Friday, January 1, 2027, and close at 11pm GMT on Monday, February 1, 2027.
