Tottenham Eye £70m Semenyo as Frank's Transfer Target Revealed
Spurs target £70m Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to reignite their interest in Bournemouth's attacking talisman Antoine Semenyo when the January transfer window opens, with manager Thomas Frank having already made his admiration for the player abundantly clear.

Premier League Giants Circle for Cherries Star

Antoine Semenyo has emerged as one of the most sought-after talents in English football, with Sky Sports reporting that Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all monitoring the 25-year-old's situation at the Vitality Stadium.

Spurs initially made contact about the Ghana international back in June, but Bournemouth delivered a firm response: they had no interest in selling their prized asset and would demand approximately £70 million to even entertain offers.

Frank's Previous Praise Signals Interest

Current Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, while still in charge of Brentford, singled out Semenyo for significant praise ahead of a match against Bournemouth last season. "Semenyo can play wherever he wants to play. He's a fantastic player," Frank declared.

He went further, stating, "I think he's been the best individual player for Bournemouth this season. He is definitely a player we need to look out for and do our best to close down." This assessment proved accurate, with Semenyo delivering an impressive 13 goals and 7 assists in 42 appearances across the last campaign.

Semenyo's Stellar Form and Contract Situation

The forward's exceptional form has continued into the current season, where he has already racked up 6 goals and 3 assists in just 11 Premier League games. Since his arrival from Bristol City in January 2023, he has developed into one of the division's most consistent and dangerous attackers.

Bournemouth strengthened their negotiating position in July by securing Semenyo to a new five-year contract. Despite speculation, it is understood the player is content on the south coast and has not submitted a transfer request.

With Arsenal and Manchester United having pursued alternative targets in the summer, Tottenham now face the prospect of a significant financial outlay if they wish to test Bournemouth's resolve in January and secure a player their manager so clearly admires.
