Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Turkish side Trabzonspor. The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium throughout the summer transfer window.
Everton links and Instagram statement
Richarlison was heavily linked with a return to former club Everton. The two clubs were in negotiations over a potential move for Iliman N'Diaye, who eventually completed a deadline day move to Manchester City.
Amid the speculation, Richarlison appeared to hit out at Spurs in a statement released on Instagram. Despite the English transfer window being closed, it seems that the striker has made a decision over his future.
Turkish window and wage increase
With the Turkish transfer window remaining open until midnight on September 4, Transfermarkt reports that Richarlison could complete a switch to Trabzonspor, where he would link up with former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in a mouth-watering attacking partnership.
It is further reported that he stands to triple his current Spurs wages, thought to be in the region of £100,000 per week. Spurs are yet to sanction a fee from the Turkish outfit, having reportedly knocked back two offers of £15m and £20m, reports Football London.
Player's social media post
During pre-season, Roberto De Zerbi revealed Richarlison had made no secret of his desire to depart this summer. Yet it became evident that Everton was far from his preferred destination.
Taking to social media in a post translated from Portuguese to English, Richarlison wrote: "I've always made it clear, at every opportunity, that any move of mine to another place would also have to be good for the club.
"If it wasn't, I would never accept it. Just like I didn't accept it when everything here was falling apart and they needed me. I stayed and gave my life.
"So, I hope they treat my situation with the same respect that I've always had for the Spurs and for all the people who worked with me during this period. Just don't try to decide for me."
Spurs deadline day signing
Spurs did ultimately secure an alternative on deadline day, pulling off the surprise acquisition of Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk, who joined on loan from the Blues.
The Ukrainian reunites with De Zerbi, with whom he forged a close and fruitful working relationship at Shakhtar Donetsk. Mudryk became the latest addition in a window that saw Spurs smash their record transfer expenditure.
