Rangers have reportedly set their asking price for Youssef Chermiti as they look to fend off interest from Turkish clubs. The Glasgow giants are said to want a flat €30 million (£25.7 million) for the Portuguese striker, according to Turkish agent and consultant Osman Altunterim.
Chermiti's debut season at Ibrox
The 22-year-old had a mixed first season at Ibrox after joining from Everton for £8 million. He initially struggled to deliver on that fee but improved as the campaign progressed, scoring a hat-trick against Hearts in February and a brace against Celtic. He finished the season with 15 goals.
His form in the second half of the season justified Rangers' reported decision to reject a £13 million bid from Fenerbahce in January.
Interest from Turkey and beyond
Reports in Turkey suggest both Galatasaray and Besiktas are monitoring Chermiti, while PSV Eindhoven, Porto, and Lyon have also been linked earlier in the summer.
Altunterim, posting on X, said: "I know where this name came from, who suggested it to the club, what the conditions are, which teams from Turkey had shown interest before, and even that right now, Besiktas wants him more than Galatasaray does— I know the entire process from start to finish."
He added: "Right now, the clearest interest in this kid in Turkey is from Besiktas. It's beyond comprehension how a name that wasn't on Galatasaray's list just three days ago suddenly becomes a player they've been interested in for a long time! Additionally, Rangers wants a flat 30 million Euros for Chermiti! No loans or anything like that!"
Altunterim suggested that Galatasaray are unlikely to pay that price for a backup to Victor Osimhen, but interest could ramp up if Osimhen moves to Atletico Madrid.
Chermiti's stance
Speaking last month, Chermiti played down speculation over his future. He said: "I'm very happy here. I like Glasgow, I like the club and everyone likes me as well. I think everyone is just trying to help me with my development."
