Victor Osimhen has given a "wait and see" response to speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal, as the Galatasaray forward continues to dominate transfer headlines.
The Nigerian striker, who has been regularly linked with Premier League clubs, is now reportedly a target for Arsenal, with the Gunners said to be considering a move for the £58m-rated forward. His name came up during Arsenal's transfer talks with Galatasaray over a potential deal for Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Martinelli, though Martinelli rejected a move to Istanbul.
Osimhen's response to Arsenal links
When asked about the rumours, Osimhen kept his options open, saying: "There are always rumours in transfer seasons. I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job, then we will see and think further."
He also stressed that his mind is firmly on pre-season preparations, while not ruling out a departure from Galatasaray.
Premier League ambition
Osimhen has previously expressed a desire to play in the Premier League, having said in 2023: "I think playing in one of the top five leagues in the world is an amazing feeling for me. A lot of people worldwide consider the Premier League as the best and the strongest league but now I'm in one of the best leagues in the world which is the Italian Serie A. I'm working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League some day but like I said, it's a process and I just want to keep on this momentum and continue to do well."
At that time, he was in stunning form for Napoli as they won the Serie A title.
Arsenal's striking options
Arsenal currently have Viktor Gyokeres leading the attack, with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus as alternatives. Mikel Merino has also shown a talent for scoring when used as a striker by manager Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners have also been linked with Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, though the Spanish club are reportedly holding out for upwards of £100m. Arsenal have already seen attempts to sign Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior fall through this summer, with Rogers choosing Chelsea and Vinicius staying at Real Madrid.
