Darwin Nunez could yet reunite with ex-Liverpool team-mate Andy Robertson at Tottenham Hotspur. Nunez, 27, has endured a torrid time since leaving Anfield last year.
His £46million move to Al-Hilal proved to be a disaster, as he was bumped out of the Saudi Arabian side's squad so they could make way for Karim Benzema. He is set to leave the Middle East with several clubs considering a move.
Potential Reunion in North London
One of those is Trabzonspor in Turkey, where he would join former Reds attacking partner Mohamed Salah, who was unveiled by the club this week. The latest potential Liverpool reunion is one in north London.
According to the i Paper, Tottenham are considering a move for Nunez, with the future of Richarlison looking increasingly uncertain. Spurs have already signed Robertson as a free agent this summer, meaning Nunez would be the second ex-Liverpool star to move to the club this summer.
Spurs' Interest and Richarlison's Future
It's understood Spurs have not made a formal bid for Nunez, who is also valued at around £17m by the Saudi Pro League Club. He is being considered by Spurs as a potential option in the event Richarlison leaves the club.
Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi cast doubt on Richarlison's future, saying: "I didn't understand well because sometimes he says [he wants] to stay, sometimes he [wants to] leave. There is not any problem."
"He's a lovely guy. All of us know him; he makes the club, the staff, because he works hard every day, seriously every day, and we can't say anything [negative]."
Past Interactions and Relationships
Robertson and Nunez's time together was littered with many amusing interactions which were often caught on camera. One of their more infamous interactions came when Robertson opened up about a speech Nunez gave the Liverpool players, but laughed and said "(I had) not a clue" what the Uruguayan was saying.
Nunez also had a great relationship with Salah when they were both at Anfield. He came out to defend the striker after fans released a picture comparing Nunez and Luis Diaz to new signings Florian Wirtz and Luis Diaz and saying it was the "biggest upgrade in football history."
In addition, when Nunez departed, the Egyptian took to social media and wrote: "I consider myself lucky to have had you as a team-mate and friend."
"You were always very real and brought so much good energy wherever you went. You made us laugh and showed heart in everything you did. You will be missed and I wish you the best in your new club."
