Despite these additions, the club's return to the Champions League has highlighted the need for greater squad depth, prompting further transfer business.
Priority 1: Striker
Joshua Zirkzee, who started only one game under Michael Carrick last season, is in talks to join Juventus on loan with a £30m option to buy. His departure would leave a gap up front, especially with Benjamin Sesko injured. United are eyeing replacements such as Ollie Watkins, Dusan Vlahovic (available on a free transfer), or Ivan Toney, who scored 55 goals in Saudi Arabia.
Priority 2: Centre Midfield
After Casemiro left and Manuel Ugarte suffered a serious knee injury at the World Cup, United signed two midfielders but still have only Santos, Tielemans, and Kobbie Mainoo as fit senior options. Aurelien Tchouameni is the top target, though Real Madrid may demand a high fee. Alternatives include Manu Kone and Alex Scott, though a bid for Scott is unlikely after Chelsea rejected a £64m offer.
Priority 3: Left-Back
Luke Shaw started all 38 Premier League games last season for the first time in his career, but his fitness remains a concern at 31. With Patrick Dorgu shifting to the wing and Harry Amass potentially for sale, Newcastle's Lewis Hall is a target. However, Newcastle's sales of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali may make a deal difficult. Fulham's Antonee Robinson is an alternative.
Priority 4: Left Wing
Marcus Rashford's future is uncertain, with United open to selling him for around £40m. If he stays, a left winger becomes less urgent. Everton's Iliman Ndiaye is admired, while Lille's Matias Fernandez-Pardo is a cheaper backup option behind Matheus Cunha.
