Manchester United have officially confirmed the signing of teenage winger Isaac Konde, who has joined the Red Devils from arch rivals Liverpool. The 16-year-old's move was completed over the weekend, according to The Athletic.
Deal completed amid United interest
Earlier this month, it emerged that United were closing in on Konde amid the uncertainty over JJ Gabriel, who recently asked to leave the club in search of a new start elsewhere. Liverpool wanted to keep hold of Konde, who turned down a deal at Anfield in order to complete his switch to United.
He has signed a one-year scholarship agreement and will reportedly be offered a professional contract when he turns 17 next month.
Compensation demand from Liverpool
Liverpool are entitled to compensation from United and will demand millions of pounds in exchange for his signature, according to The Sun. A transfer fee is yet to be decided.
