Man Utd and Arsenal set asking price for Joaquin Seys

Arsenal and Manchester United have learned the asking price for Club Brugge left-back Joaquin Seys, with the Belgian club setting a fee of €35 million (£30 million) for the 21-year-old.

Rising star attracts Premier League interest

Seys has made 97 first-team appearances for Club Brugge, including 23 in the Champions League, and has earned six caps for Belgium, featuring at the World Cup this summer. His performances have attracted attention from several top clubs.

According to The Sun, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are also monitoring the defender, while Porto and Benfica have been linked. Manchester United and Arsenal are believed to have made enquiries about his availability.

Club Brugge realistic about departure

Club Brugge are realistic that they may not keep Seys given the level of interest, and have set the asking price. The fee is unlikely to deter Premier League clubs, but it remains to be seen if any will make a formal move.

Seys is under contract until 2029, so Club Brugge are under no immediate pressure to sell. The defender does not turn 22 until March next year.

Competition for places at top clubs

Both Manchester United and Arsenal already have left-back options, meaning Seys would likely compete for a starting spot rather than be an automatic first choice. Aston Villa, meanwhile, are seeking a replacement for Lucas Digne, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in an £8.5 million deal.

Villa have Ian Maatsen in that position but want to strengthen as they prepare for Champions League football after winning the Europa League. A club statement on Digne's exit said: 'A consummate professional, who was highly regarded by his fellow players and staff alike, Lucas leaves Aston Villa with the very best wishes of everyone at the football club.'
