Manchester United have agreed a £70 million deal to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, according to reports. The Cameroon international is set to travel to Manchester for a medical on Saturday.
Deal details and summer signings
United have already strengthened their midfield options this summer with the arrivals of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos. Earlier this week, United stepped up talks with Brighton over a deal for Baleba before the end of the transfer window.
According to talkSPORT, United have now reached an agreement with Brighton which will see them pay £65m up front for Baleba, plus a further £5m in add-ons.
Injury and Premier League opener
Baleba was already set to miss Brighton's Premier League opener against Aston Villa on Sunday as he continues to recover from an ankle ligament injury. The midfielder is expected to return to full fitness towards the end of September.
Meanwhile, Michael Carrick's team begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to newly promoted Hull City in Saturday's early kick-off.
