Man United January transfer at risk as Endrick says 'yes' to Milan deal
Man United transfer at risk as Endrick says 'yes' to Milan

Manchester United's potential transfer plans could be impacted by Ruben Amorim, who is reportedly looking to target a new striker in January. Real Madrid star Endrick has been heavily linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, and the Brazilian's future could go on to impact the Reds' plans for the New Year.

United's summer business and Zirkzee's uncertain future

United signed four players in the summer, with the club choosing to prioritise their midfield as Carlos Baleba, Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos all moved to Old Trafford, along with goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

There has been speculation that United could go into the market for a new striker, with Joshua Zirkzee's future increasingly uncertain before the summer transfer window closed. A deadline day switch to Everton fell through with a deal never getting close to completion, but that has not stopped rumours that the Netherlands international could still leave Old Trafford.

Milan's interest in Endrick

Reports emerged earlier this week claiming that AC Milan, who are managed by former United boss Amorim, have expressed an interest in signing Zirkzee. Now, a fresh report in La Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Milan have now turned their attention to trying to sign Endrick, with the striker apparently indicating his preference to move to the Serie A giants.

It has been reported that Milan are hopeful that they will be able to agree a deal with Madrid to sign Endrick when the next transfer window opens in January. As a result, if Milan do sign Endrick, it would see Zirkzee's future become even more uncertain, with no other clubs appearing to show an interest in signing the United striker at this stage.

Zirkzee's struggles at United

Zirkzee's time at United has not gone fully to plan for the striker, with just five Premier League starts to his name since the beginning of last season. The striker has featured four times so far this term, none of which have been starts, which led to his surprise at being included in the latest Netherlands squad selected by new manager, Xavi.

"At the moment, that means I am mainly coming on as a substitute," Zirkzee recently said about his current role at United. "And in the end, I have to do something about that myself, even if it isn't easy. Even so, it was still quite a big surprise that the coach called me up."

He added: "I absolutely did not expect a call-up. I'm obviously not a starter, so it did give me a good feeling that the coach had confidence in me to call me up. But absolutely not expected, no."
