Liverpool have been issued a transfer warning over Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, with former Premier League striker Louis Saha urging Manchester United to hijack any potential move. The Reds failed to sign Guehi on deadline day after a £35million deal fell through at the last moment.
Guehi's contract at Selhurst Park expires at the end of the season, and reports suggest a new deal is unlikely. This has led to speculation that the England international could be available for a cut-price fee in January or on a free transfer next summer.
Louis Saha, speaking to BetVictor, said: 'Marc Guehi is definitely a top player and a leader. I love him as a player. It's simple: if Man Utd can hijack the deal to Liverpool, even by paying £20million more than his market price, do it.'
The former striker praised Guehi's consistency, communication, and reliability, predicting he will 'undoubtedly be part of a huge team and play for significant stakes in the future.'
Liverpool invested over £400million in new signings during the summer window but ended it without a new centre-back. Whether they will renew their interest in Guehi remains to be seen, with Manchester United now reportedly considering a move.
