Jack Grealish linked with surprise Everton loan move amid desire to stay in north of England

Jack Grealish is reportedly a target for Everton, who hope to capitalise on the Manchester City winger's desire to remain in the north of England. The 29-year-old has been told he can leave the Etihad Stadium this summer after being omitted from City's squad for the Club World Cup in the United States.

According to The Independent, Grealish would prefer to stay at his Cheshire home with partner Sasha Attwood and their young daughter rather than move abroad. Italian champions Napoli have been linked, but a loan move to Everton could appeal as it would allow him to remain in the region.

Grealish joined City from Aston Villa for £100 million in 2021, becoming the most expensive English player at the time. He has won three Premier League titles and the Champions League, but his influence has waned, making only 20 league appearances in each of the last two seasons and scoring just once in 2024-25.

Everton manager David Moyes is said to be willing to give Grealish more freedom than he had under Pep Guardiola. The move to Everton's new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock could also appeal to Grealish as he seeks to revive his career and regain his England place ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
