Everton are weighing up the future of Tyler Dibling less than a year after the club paid Southampton £35 million to sign the winger. Reports from the Daily Mail suggest RB Leipzig are interested in the 20-year-old, who has struggled to make an impact at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Despite manager David Moyes publicly downplaying the fee, Dibling has failed to impress. He recorded the lowest average rating in the ECHO player ratings for the season at 5.56, and was substituted at half-time in Premier League matches against Crystal Palace and Brentford. Moyes has urged the player to "pull his finger out" after falling behind loan signing Tyrique George in the pecking order.
Some fans have criticised Moyes for not giving young players a chance, but the manager has a track record of developing talent such as Wayne Rooney, Leon Osman, and Ross Barkley. However, Dibling's lack of game time may be due to performances rather than age. He has featured for just one minute since March, and his only full start ended in a Carabao Cup exit to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Dibling arrived late in the transfer window after a disjointed summer, and a full pre-season under Moyes could help him improve.
