Chelsea will be able to sign players in January after their transfer ban was reduced to just one window on Friday. The ban had been seen as beneficial, allowing young talents like Fikayo Tomori to emerge. Now, manager Frank Lampard is set to receive a £150million warchest to strengthen the squad.
Defence may no longer be an immediate priority, with Tomori forming a promising partnership with Kurt Zouma, and Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen returning from injury. However, Chelsea retain a long-standing interest in re-signing Nathan Ake from Bournemouth.
Left-back is a high priority, with Emerson Palmieri currently first choice but a long-term option sought. Leicester's Ben Chilwell is the favourite, though he would cost around £70m. Valencia's Jose Gaya is another option.
In wide areas, Chelsea are looking to add a long-term option alongside Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic. Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha has been of interest for some time, and they are monitoring Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho.
Up front, Tammy Abraham has flourished with 12 goals this season, but a new striker is still needed to provide competition or backup. Lyon's Moussa Dembele and Bournemouth's Callum Wilson are being watched, though both come with hefty price tags.
