Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly competing for Brazilian wonderkid Lorran, a 17-year-old attacking midfielder from Flamengo with a £43 million release clause. The teenager has made only a handful of appearances for the Brazilian club but has attracted attention from Europe's elite.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, both Premier League sides have recently scouted Lorran, though the extent of their interest remains unclear. The player recently signed with Roc Nation Sports Brazil, the agency founded by Jay-Z, which also represents Brazilian stars like Vinicius Jr and Gabriel Martinelli.
Lorran made his Flamengo debut at 16 and became the club's youngest-ever goalscorer after equalising in a 1-1 draw against Bangu. Chelsea, under Todd Boehly's ownership, have already signed Brazilian talents such as Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, and Angelo, suggesting a strategy of acquiring future stars.
No official proposal has been made to Flamengo, and it is uncertain whether the club would negotiate below the release clause. Both United and Chelsea have been mindful of Financial Fair Play regulations, raising questions about whether either will pay £43 million for a 17-year-old.
