Arsenal set to break record sale with Martinelli bid

Galatasaray have submitted a £38.4m bid for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, a fee that would set a new club-record sale for the Gunners, according to Sky Germany.

Record bid for Martinelli

The Turkish Super Lig club's opening offer for the 25-year-old Brazilian is being considered by Arsenal, with the bid surpassing the current record sale of £35m, when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Liverpool in 2019.

Left flank reshuffle

Arsenal have already sold Leandro Trossard to Besiktas and brought in Christos Tzolis as a replacement, but they are keen to further strengthen that area. The potential arrival of another attacking player could open the door for Martinelli's exit. Manager Mikel Arteta has been linked with moves for Morgan Rogers, Bradley Barcola and Vinicius Junior, though no headline signing has yet materialised.

Galatasaray's priority

According to Florian Plettenberg, Martinelli is Galatasaray's 'top priority' this summer, despite their links to AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, who is expected to leave the San Siro. Whether Arsenal will sanction Martinelli's departure before securing a replacement remains to be seen, but his exit appears destined to be for a club-record fee.
