Wimbledon Day 11: Coco Gauff in Semi-Final Action

Women's semi-final day at Wimbledon on Thursday features Coco Gauff as the headline act. The American is the highest-ranked seed remaining after major upsets saw defending champion Iga Swiatek lose to Alexandra Eala and world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka fall to Naomi Osaka on Centre Court.

Gauff's Path to the Semi-Finals

Gauff advanced by defeating fourth seed Jessica Pegula in an all-American quarter-final, rallying from a set down to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. The 22-year-old now faces 10th seed Karolina Muchova, who beat Naomi Osaka 7-6(4), 6-4 in the fourth round and earlier ousted former champion Barbora Krejcikova.

Czech Presence in the Last Four

Muchova is one of two Czech players in the semi-finals, alongside Linda Noskova. Noskova, the ninth seed, takes on 12th seed Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine. Kostyuk defeated former finalist Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2 in the quarter-finals, following wins over Alyson Krueger and Emma Navarro. Noskova has beaten three seeds en route: Sorana Cirstea, Eastbourne champion Madison Keys, and Elise Mertens.
