Venus Williams, the seven-time grand slam singles champion, has married Danish-born Italian actor and model Andrea Preti. The wedding took place in Palm Beach, Florida, following a five-day celebration with family and close friends, as announced by Williams on social media Tuesday.
Preti, 45, and Williams, also 45, met during Milan Fashion Week in 2024 and became engaged in January 2025. The couple previously held a non-official ceremony in Italy earlier this year. Preti is known for his work as an actor and model, according to IMDb.
Williams first publicly acknowledged Preti in July 2024 during the DC Open, where she became the second-oldest woman in the Open era to win a tour-level singles match. After the victory, she thanked her fiancé, who was in the stands, during an on-court interview.
The wedding comes as Williams continues her historic tennis career. She returned to competition after a 16-month hiatus in Washington and plans to play a 33rd consecutive season on the WTA Tour, starting in January in Auckland. Beyond tennis, Williams co-chairs the 2026 Met Gala alongside Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Anna Wintour.
According to Vogue, which first reported details, the Palm Beach festivities included a private courthouse ceremony on Friday morning and a larger celebration on Saturday. Williams has not announced any changes to her competitive schedule following the marriage.
