Newsboy's Nap Geo and Next Best Silesia at Carlisle on Wednesday
Newsboy's Nap Geo and Next Best Silesia at Carlisle

Carlisle stages the sole UK flat meeting on Wednesday, an eight-race card featuring Newsboy's Nap, Geo, in the Lady Dacre Bell Handicap at 3.30. The progressive four-year-old filly, trained by Jim Goldie, is fancied to win with top jockey Tom Marquand booked.

Geo's Recent Form

Geo was narrowly beaten by a neck at Hamilton last time out. Under Paul Mulrennan, she travelled well throughout and duelled with Bearing Up inside the final furlong before settling for second. She finished three and a quarter lengths clear of the rest, and with Marquand's assistance, she could prove hard to beat.

Silesia as Next Best

Earlier on the card, Silesia (2.30) is Newsboy's next best. The Kevin Ryan-trained juvenile has finished in the top three in all three starts, all over five furlongs, and has improved each time. She placed third in the Hilary Needler at Beverley last month and should be better suited to Wednesday's six-furlong trip.
