Manchester United continue their pre-season campaign against Rosenborg today at the Lerkendal Stadion in Trondheim, Norway. The match is the second test of the summer for United against the 26-time champions of Norway.
Previous meeting and recent form
The two teams have only met once before, in July 2024, when a stoppage-time goal from Noah Jean Holm gave Rosenborg a 1-0 win. United opened their pre-season with a 1-0 defeat to Championship side Wrexham in Finland last weekend.
Further friendlies are scheduled against Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Leeds and AC Milan, taking the squad to Sweden, the Republic of Ireland and Poland.
Team news
Andrey Santos, who joined from Chelsea last week in a £50million transfer, is the only new face in the travelling squad after an impressive debut. Fellow summer signing Youri Tielemans is resting after World Cup duty with Belgium, while Karl Darlow is recovering from a minor procedure.
Manchester United's other World Cup participants have not yet returned to club duties. Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha, Senne Lammens, Amad Diallo, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, Altay Bayindir, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford are all unavailable.
The one change from last week's squad is the inclusion of JJ Gabriel, who replaces Ethan Wheatley. Gabriel has earned a senior call-up for the friendly.
How to watch
The match is being shown live on United's in-house club media channel MUTV, which costs £7.99 a month in the UK or £29.99 per year. Coverage begins at 4pm BST ahead of kick-off at 5pm. A live blog is available with Standard Sport.
