Man Utd braced for Galatasaray Fernandes bid as Barcelona eye Rashford

Manchester United are braced for Galatasaray to mount a bid for captain Bruno Fernandes, while Barcelona reportedly remain in contact over a dramatic Marcus Rashford return, according to multiple reports.

Galatasaray ready to double Fernandes' wages

Galatasaray are ready to double Fernandes' wages and offer £43m for his services, according to The Telegraph. In May, Mirror Football reported that the Portuguese playmaker would be a dream signing for the Turkish side.

However, multiple outlets have suggested that United will swiftly reject the offer and any future bid, as they consider their skipper completely untouchable. His £55.6m release clause for foreign clubs expired in July.

Other clubs linked with Fernandes

BBC Sport specifically claims that Galatasaray would be wasting their time and that they are not the only club that might attempt to test United's resolve. Both Juventus and AC Milan have been suggested as potential interested parties.

Fernandes' current contract expires in 2027, with the option to extend it by a further year.

Barcelona remain in contact with Rashford

Rashford's future has been a topic of conversation throughout this summer transfer window after the English forward returned to United following a loan spell at Barcelona. The 28-year-old played well in La Liga, but the Catalan giants opted not to make his loan move permanent for £26m, instead opting to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for £70m and Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.

Rashford was left in limbo, with suggestions that he might be fully reintegrated at Old Trafford for the new season. However, new reports claim that Barcelona are not quite done.

TEAMtalk claims they remain in contact with Rashford's representatives and despite making a series of attacking signings, continue to assess their options and could still attempt to pull off a dramatic return.

Rashford returned to United training on August 9 after starring for England at the World Cup. He played in their 4-2 defeat to AC Milan.

United's pre-season and new signings

Manchester United have four days until their Premier League opener against Hull City. But Michael Carrick's squad has only been bolstered by three new arrivals thus far.

In what has been Carrick's first pre-season at the helm, United have fared reasonably, winning two, losing two and drawing two. Their final friendly was against AC Milan and ex-manager Ruben Amorim, when they fell to a 4-2 defeat in Poland.

Over the summer window, three senior additions have been made. Andrey Santos was signed from Chelsea for £50m, Karl Darlow joined after his Leeds United deal expired and Youri Tielemans arrived from Aston Villa for £35m.
