Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has learned the Reds' 2026/27 Premier League fixture schedule ahead of his first season in charge. The Spaniard replaced Arne Slot earlier this month after the Dutchman was surprisingly sacked following a dire title defence.
Opening Fixtures
Iraola will face a tricky trip to Newcastle United in his first competitive match as Liverpool manager. The season kicks off at St James' Park on Sunday, August 23, at 4.30pm, live on Sky Sports. His competitive Anfield debut comes the following weekend against Nottingham Forest.
The rest of the first five fixtures see Liverpool travel to newly-promoted Ipswich Town, host Fulham, and then visit Bournemouth on the weekend of September 19/20, where Iraola returns to his former club.
Key Derby and Rivalry Matches
Arch rivals Manchester United visit Anfield on November 21, while Iraola's first Merseyside derby takes place a week later on November 28 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The return matches both occur in January.
Liverpool face defending champions Arsenal at Anfield on October 31 and visit the Emirates on February 6. They will be reunited with club legend Andy Robertson, now playing for Tottenham, on December 19 at Anfield before visiting Spurs in February.
Other Notable Clashes
Xabi Alonso's Chelsea visit on December 5 and May 1, while Enzo Maresca's Manchester City come to Anfield on October 10 before the return fixture on May 8. The Reds travel to Hull City on Boxing Day and face Aston Villa at Villa Park four days later. Liverpool then host Coventry City in their first match of 2027.
The run-in features Chelsea, Man City, Brentford, Brighton, and Bournemouth all in May. All dates after the first match are subject to change due to TV picks.
