Harry Kane Tipped for NFL Success by Cowboys Kicker

England captain Harry Kane has been tipped to swap soccer for American football by the NFL’s best-paid kicker. The England captain has admitted he wants to become a gridiron star after hanging up his boots.

Brandon Aubrey, who signed a record $28 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys, thinks the Three Lions’ record goal scorer can make the transition. Aubrey, 31, told TalkSport: “He’s a fantastic striker of the ball, so that’ll age gracefully as a kicker, and he has the talent if he wanted to do that.”

He added: “It’s not quite as exciting as being England’s top goal scorer, so please keep going as long as you can. But yeah, all jokes aside, he can definitely do it whenever he wanted. But hopefully he’s not too old. I have a feeling he’ll be a little bit on the older side when he’s done with soccer and NFL teams don’t like to see too old kickers to start.”

Kane is set to play in Dallas on Wednesday (June 17) as Thomas Tuchel’s side kick off their World Cup campaign against Croatia. It comes after the former Tottenham striker spoke about his American dream of becoming an NFL star.

The Bayern Munich ace, 32, told Good Morning America: “It’s something I definitely want to explore. I know it will be a lot of hard work. I’m not expecting to just walk up and start kicking field goals. It would be a lot of practice, a lot of hard work. But yeah, it’s something I’d love to do. The NFL is something I have been following for about ten years now, and I love it, so I would love to give it a go.”

Kane turns 33 in July and is in talks over extending his Bayern contract. He is England’s all-time leading scorer with 79 goals in 114 caps.
