Emma Raducanu's total career earnings have been surpassed by Iga Swiatek's prize money in just six months of the 2024 season. The Polish world number one earned £2 million for winning her fourth French Open title on Saturday, pushing her 2024 earnings to approximately £5.3 million.
Raducanu, who won the US Open in 2021, has earned around £3.1 million since turning professional in 2018. In contrast, Swiatek has amassed £24.5 million in career prize money, nearly ten times that of her British counterpart, despite turning professional only two years earlier.
Swiatek, 23, has spent over 100 weeks as world number one and won three consecutive French Open titles, along with four WTA 1000 titles in 2024. With Wimbledon and the US Open still to come, she could exceed £10 million in earnings this year.
Raducanu, 21, has struggled with injuries, missing four of the last six Grand Slams. She withdrew from qualifying at Roland Garros and has been sidelined for much of the clay-court season. She has typically performed better on grass and hard courts, with Wimbledon and the US Open offering opportunities for a comeback.
Swiatek is already ninth on the WTA's all-time earnings list, with £33.5 million separating her from second-placed Venus Williams. Serena Williams leads with £74.7 million, more than double any rival.
