Osimhen 'Still Waiting' for Man United Move, Says Louis Saha
Osimhen 'Still Waiting' for Man United, Says Saha

Louis Saha has claimed that Victor Osimhen is still waiting for Manchester United to sign him, given that the striker is a supporter of the club. The former United forward believes Osimhen would be a better fit for the Reds than Harry Kane, particularly alongside Benjamin Sesko.

Osimhen's Financial Situation at Galatasaray

Osimhen, 27, has been linked with Manchester United several times over recent transfer windows. However, a move now appears unlikely. Galatasaray are paying him substantial wages, which go further in Turkey because the top tax rate is only 40 per cent, with half of that withheld by Super Lig clubs, effectively making it 20 per cent, compared to 45 per cent in the United Kingdom.

It would also require an equally large fee for the Turkish champions to consider selling, making a transfer not financially viable.

Saha's Verdict on Osimhen and Sesko

Saha told MrGamble via Metro that Osimhen is waiting for the Reds: "All United have to do is make the connection, but that's why it hasn't happened yet. Osimhen is still waiting."

He added: "United missed out on signing Harry Kane, and that was one of their biggest mistakes in the transfer market. But they can correct that mistake by signing Osimhen. I think Osimhen is a better fit for United now than Kane because of Benjamin Sesko. Osimhen can teach Sesko about movement and being a striker, but they could also play together and combine better than Kane and Sesko could."

The former United striker also said: "I know for a fact that Victor Osimhen is a Manchester United fan. He loves Man United. I have seen it in his eyes: the impact the club has on him, and he sees the impact he could have on this team."

Other Former Players Weigh In

Saha is not the only former United player to suggest the club should sign Osimhen this month. Patrice Evra told GOAL in association with Stake that they need "a striker, someone who scores a goal, I think that's what I'm looking at." He added: "That's why for me, Osimhen is the best, he's a perfect example."

Osimhen has scored five goals and assisted another three across the first three Super Lig games of this season. The striker has directly contributed to all but two of their nine league goals. He is already a third of the way to his 15 league goals from last season and just three behind his domestic assists tally. In the Champions League, Osimhen impressed with seven goals and another assist across ten appearances. His current form is in line with his loan spell, during which he scored 37 times in 41 games across all competitions.
