Manchester United have been handed their sixth injury concern of the past week after Patrick Dorgu was forced off with an issue while playing for Denmark. The 21-year-old started the Nations League clash against Wales on Sunday but was forced off in the 30th minute due to a potential hamstring problem.
Fourth withdrawal from international duty
Denmark boss Brian Riemer has since confirmed Dorgu is leaving their national team camp which makes him the fourth United player to withdraw from international duty after Karl Darlow, Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo.
While he has remained away with his country, there is some concern over Bruno Fernandes after an update from Portugal boss Jorge Jesus and his subsequent absence against Norway over the weekend.
Fernandes playing through pain
Ahead of the clash in Oslo, he said: "In the game against Wales [last Thursday], we went in with all the available players but Bruno Fernandes came off with a complicated problem.
"The [Fernandes] case involves treatment and recovery time. He's coming off an injury at United, and he told me he's been playing with that pain for the last three games, which is hindering him. I've already spoken to him and I prefer not to risk it in this game so he's fully fit for the Denmark match."
Their next game is on Thursday which suggests Fernandes is fine but it is certainly concerning that he has seemingly been carrying a problem for a number of weeks.
Sesko, Amad and De Ligt updates
Benjamin Sesko is another United attacker that has been plagued by an issue, though his dates back to May. His minutes were gradually being built up at the start of the season but he missed last weekend's trip to Fulham with Michael Carrick hoping it is not too bad.
"He just felt a little bit of pain [in his shin] after the game the other night [vs Brighton]. We're assessing that. Hopefully, it's not too bad, but we will have to see."
Amad, meanwhile, has not even featured in this campaign because of an ankle problem but Carrick has confirmed he should be back in team training by the time domestic football returns.
Matthijs de Ligt is also yet to feature in United's first seven games this season with the Dutch defender actually last playing for United in November 2025. A back injury, which ultimately required surgery the summer, has kept him out for an extended period.
However, Carrick issued a hopeful update on his condition earlier this month. He said: "Matta is just working his way back, really. So I don't want to, because of how it's been, put too much of a timeframe on it."
Manuel Ugarte is another long-term absentee after suffering a serious knee injury at the World Cup while third-choice goalkeeper Tom Heaton is unavailable.
The issues for the likes of Fernandes, Mainoo and Rashford are likely minor with their absences precautionary but Carrick could have plenty of fitness doubts for their next Premier League clash against Tottenham.
