Former Australia winger Marika Koroibete is set to make his Ospreys debut in Friday night's Welsh derby against Dragons at Rodney Parade.
Koroibete missed the recent defeats to the Sharks and Lions, but will now make his United Rugby Championship (URC) bow in the back three alongside Keelan Giles and Tom Rogers. The 34-year-old arrives after five seasons with the Panasonic Wild Knights in Japan.
Difference maker
Ospreys head coach Mark Jones is hopeful the dual-code international will have a big impact on the team's fortunes.
"We brought him here to be a difference maker for us," Jones said. "His power, work rate, aerial stuff, physicality, we'd love to see him bring that to the party."
Liam Wright, Ross Moriarty and Morgan Morris are all named in the back row, while Keiran Williams and Evardi Boshoff continue in midfield. Former Australia centre Lalakai Foketi, another big summer signing, is among the replacements.
Dyer aiming for Wales recall
Rio Dyer is set to line up on the right flank for the hosts as he bids to earn a Wales recall. Dyer hasn't featured for his country since facing South Africa last November, but is eager to catch boss Steve Tandy's eye ahead of the Nations Championship fixtures in the autumn.
"Rio this pre-season ran the fastest he has in a long while," said Dragons head coach Filo Tiatia. "He has been a handful with his speed and ability to beat people. I'm really happy for Rio with where he is at. He is a totally different man to when I first met him a couple of years ago. He is strong in his faith and is seeing things differently. He is in a good space and is travelling light, trying to enjoy what he is doing."
Tiatia has made three changes for the clash, with centre Fetuli Paea, scrum-half Che Hope and open-side flanker Harry Beddall all handed starts. Dragons have drawn and won their two opening games of the new season.
