The Duchess of Cambridge delighted spectators at Wimbledon on Sunday as she enthusiastically participated in a Mexican wave during the men's wheelchair singles final. The 39-year-old royal, who is a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, was seen laughing and raising her arms in the air as the wave swept through the stands.
Later, Kate and her father, Michael Middleton, moved to Centre Court to watch the men's singles final between Novak Djokovic and Matteo Berrettini. For the occasion, the Duchess wore a pink midi dress with a matching floral face mask, nude heels, and a clutch bag. Her brunette hair was styled in loose curls, and she accessorised with tortoiseshell sunglasses.
Kate's appearance at Wimbledon came shortly after she completed a period of self-isolation. She had been forced to isolate from 2 July after coming into close contact with someone who later tested positive for Covid-19. Kensington Palace confirmed that the isolation period had ended by Saturday, allowing her to attend the women's singles final with Prince William.
On Saturday, Kate presented trophies to women's singles champion Ashleigh Barty and runner-up Karolina Pliskova. The Cambridges' official Twitter account congratulated Barty, calling the match 'incredible'. Meanwhile, Prince William, as President of the Football Association, was expected to attend the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening.
