Geri Horner is reportedly open to moving to Italy if her husband, Christian, decides to return to Formula 1 with Ferrari. The former Red Bull boss has been away from the F1 paddock for just over a year, having left the team in July 2025.
Horner's F1 Return Plans
Across 20 years in charge, the 52-year-old won six Constructors' Championships and eight World Drivers' Championships with Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. Horner took a £75million payout from Red Bull with the assurance that he could return to F1 as soon as this summer - and it now seems that the racing itch has returned.
The ex-Red Bull chief stated he would be open to working with Ferrari in order to wake the "sleeping giant" of the racing world. He told The Times: "At this stage in my life, there’s only one team for which I would accept non-participation in ownership."
"Would I consider Ferrari? I mean, Ferrari is the biggest brand in Formula 1. It’s the dream. And arguably it’s the sleeping giant of Formula 1."
Geri's Stance on Moving
His wife Geri would be open to moving to the Maranello area of Italy to support her husband's potential return to F1, according to The Daily Mail. The former Spice Girls star would split her time between living in the Italian city and the family homes in Oxfordshire and London.
Horner looks to be after Fred Vasseur's job. Current Ferrari chief Fred Vasseur missed one day in Monaco this season due to heart problems. Despite this, he has the full confidence of his team, regardless of the mounting speculation surrounding Horner.
Ferrari's Response
The F1 team said: "We have confidence, full confidence in Fred Vasseur and in his team, and we continue to do so. At this time it's really important that the team remains united and cohesive, and we are focused with all the energy on the work ahead."
"Ferrari has always attracted extraordinary interest, and it's only natural that many professionals aspire to be part of it. It is a reflection of the strength of what Ferrari really represents."
"So, this is why we really want to avoid, and we do not intend to fuel speculation or comment on assumptions coming from outside the company. And it's not just related to the story in the times of Mr. Horner, but in general, the speculation about Fred."
