Fiji to 'host' England, Wales and Scotland in UK in new Nations Championship

Fiji will play their home fixtures in the inaugural Nations Championship in Cardiff, Liverpool and Edinburgh, with venues confirmed for games against Wales, England and Scotland. The Pacific Islanders requested to play outside Fiji to boost commercial potential.

Fiji open against Wales at Cardiff City Stadium on 4 July, then face England at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium on 11 July, marking England's first home game away from Twickenham since 2019. They conclude against Scotland at Murrayfield on 18 July.

The scheduling creates dilemmas for opposition coaches due to travel-intensive itineraries. England play South Africa in Johannesburg and Argentina in Santiago del Estero either side of the Fiji game, with Steve Borthwick potentially splitting his squad. Scotland face fixtures in Cordoba, Pretoria and Edinburgh, while Wales play in Cardiff, San Juan and Durban.

Japan are reportedly seeking an Australian venue for their 11 July game against Ireland, while playing Italy and France in Tokyo. The competition concludes with a finals weekend at Twickenham's Allianz Stadium in November, with all matches live on ITV.
