Tommy Fury's crossover bout with Eddie Hall will be contested over six two-minute rounds, a format that appears to heavily favour the former World's Strongest Man. Hall, who weighs around 150kg (330lb), will outweigh Fury by more than 120lb when they meet in Manchester on Saturday.
Hall confirmed the fight rules in an interview with talkSPORT, stating there is no weight limit and that he will use 12oz gloves. The shorter rounds, compared to the standard three minutes in professional boxing, will allow Hall to expend maximum energy without needing to conserve stamina.
The bout is classified as an exhibition, meaning it will not affect Fury's professional record of 11-0. Hall, making his Misfits Boxing debut, explained the fight stems from a dispute with the Fury family after he called out Tyson Fury for an MMA bout. 'I'd like to shut your dad up and put you in your place,' Hall said on his YouTube channel, adding that the encounter is 'not a friendly one'.
Hall's lack of weight cutting and the shorter rounds are seen as key advantages for the strongman, who will rely on explosive power rather than endurance. The fight takes place on Saturday in Manchester.
