Mariah Carey's Aspen Style & Milan 2026 Olympics Role

Music icon Mariah Carey was spotted embracing the winter chill in high-fashion style as she departed for a snowy retreat in Aspen, Colorado, on Tuesday. The singer, known globally as the Queen of Christmas, made a statement in a cosy yet chic ensemble centred around a $600 Louis Vuitton scarf.

Winter Fashion and Aspen Adventures

Carey, 56, expertly layered her look, pairing the designer scarf with a sumptuous cream sheepskin cape and a pair of knee-high boots. Underneath, she wore a simple black long-sleeved dress and styled her signature blonde hair into tight curls. True to her diva persona, she completed the outfit with oversized sunglasses, even as dusk settled.

During her time in the famous mountain town, the vocalist was seen browsing the upscale designer boutiques and paid a visit to the renowned hat store, Kemo Sabe. The getaway follows a major career announcement from the star.

A Star-Studded Olympic Opening

Just a day before her trip, on Monday, Mariah Carey revealed she will have the honour of opening the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy, in 2026. She shared the exciting news in a video posted to her Instagram, clad in a striking red dress and diamonds.

"Ciao! Get ready for Milano Cortina 2026," she said, before adding in Italian, "See you at the Stadio San Siro on the 6th of February for the Olympic Opening Ceremony. Ci Vediamo a Milano!"

The official Milano Cortina Instagram account celebrated the announcement with a promotional poster, cleverly referencing Carey's perennial holiday anthem in the caption: "All I want for THE OPENING CEREMONY is youuuuuuuu!"

Chart Domination and Christmas Legacy

The announcement coincides with another milestone for Carey's festive classic. 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' has returned to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, marking its 20th cumulative week at the summit. Carey commemorated the feat on Instagram, posing in a red sequin outfit while holding a faux torch.

She also revealed the song is now RIAA certified 18x platinum, cementing its status as the longest-running number-one single in the chart's 67-year history. To celebrate 30 years of her seminal 'Merry Christmas' album, a deluxe digital edition was released in 2024, featuring a remastered recording of her 1994 concert.

While her latest studio album, 2023's 'Here For It All', received mixed commercial results, Carey's cultural impact, particularly during the holiday season, remains utterly undeniable as she prepares to take the world's biggest sporting stage in 2026.
