Charlie Roberts, who calls himself the UK's Hardest Man, has been reinstated for his boxing match tonight after initially pulling out. The fight will proceed with unusual rules allowing only body shots.
Fight Back On After Hospital Visit
Roberts, known as Big Stacks, was scheduled to face Armz Korleone on the undercard of Tommy Fury versus Eddie Hall in Manchester. However, he was sucker-punched on Wednesday by rapper Jordan McCann, who is also fighting on the card.
Big Stacks was taken to hospital for stitches on his cut lip. At Thursday's press conference, he admitted he couldn't wear a gumshield and was struggling to fight. 'I've been to hospital. I had to get the all clear. But yeah, I'm sweet. I'm still here. I took a little cheap shot but I firmed it like a boss. And I'm still here,' he said.
Armz Korleone's Reaction
Armz Korleone expressed frustration over the potential cancellation. 'What's this I hear that you want to pull out? You want to do body shot challenges. Are you silly? I'm hearing from my coaches that you want to do body shot challenges. Are you pulling out or not?'
Big Stacks responded: 'I might not be able to. I don't know if my jaw is alright. I might be able to body shot, yeah. You don't know the injuries. Do you think I'm doing this on purpose? Do you think I took that bang on purpose? I've got to care about my health.'
Weigh-In Reversal
On Friday, the fight was initially cancelled. But Big Stacks later arrived at the weigh-in, spoke to Misfits boss Mams Taylor, and confirmed the fight was back on. 'The fight is still on, I didn't not want to fight. I'm not p****ying, I've got what I wanted and me and Armz are going to get cracking. Forget about the face, the fight is still on. I don't want to let anyone down, the fight is on and Armz is getting ironed out,' he said.
It is understood the fight will only allow body shots to protect Big Stacks, but it is unclear what punishments would apply if either fighter throws a head punch.
