Manchester United will be without Benjamin Sesko and Casemiro for their Premier League clash with Sunderland on Saturday. The pair have been left out of the squad for the match at the Stadium of Light.
Sesko aggravated a shin injury during the first half of last weekend's 3-2 win over Liverpool, after a heavy landing pitch-side at Old Trafford. Manager Michael Carrick had admitted on Friday that the Slovenia international was a doubt for the game.
Casemiro is also absent due to a minor issue, with reports suggesting he is 'not ready' to play. The Brazilian is expected to be available again next week. Manuel Ugarte also misses out after picking up a problem in training.
With Casemiro and Ugarte unavailable, Kobbie Mainoo has a new midfield partner, with Mason Mount dropping into a deeper role. Tyler and Jack Fletcher, the twin sons of club legend Darren, are United's only other available midfielders, both named among the substitutes.
Carrick has indicated he will give minutes to fringe players, with Noussair Mazraoui starting at right-back and Diogo Dalot on the bench. Lisandro Martinez returns from suspension, replacing Ayden Heaven. Amad Diallo is preferred on the right wing against his former loan club, while Bryan Mbeumo is among the substitutes and Joshua Zirkzee leads the line.
