Mason Mount was forced off injured in the 20th minute of Manchester United's pre-season friendly against Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg on Saturday afternoon. The midfielder was replaced by Tyler Fletcher after experiencing discomfort.
Injury blow for United
Mount has been a bright spark for United during their pre-season friendlies, but his early exit against PSG has raised concerns. Manager Michael Carrick took no chances with the 27-year-old, who has struggled with injuries since his £55million move in the summer of 2023.
Mount will be assessed, but Carrick may be worried given his injury history and the proximity to the start of the 2026/27 season. United kick off their campaign against newly-promoted Hull City on August 22.
