Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane suffered a worrying injury scare after a nasty head clash during a top-of-the-table Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen. The England captain went down minutes before half-time at the BayArena after colliding with Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie while attempting to head the ball.
Kane clattered his jaw off Hincapie's shoulder, prompting Bayern physios to rush onto the field. After several minutes of medical treatment, the 31-year-old managed to get back on his feet and clutched his jaw as he ran up and down the touchline before returning for the final minutes of the goalless first half.
In a major boost for the league leaders, Kane emerged for the second half as Bayern aimed to maintain or extend their eight-point lead over the reigning champions. Manager Vincent Kompany will rely on the world-class striker for Tuesday night's Champions League clash against Celtic at the Allianz Arena, where Bayern hold a 2-1 first-leg advantage.
Kane, who has yet to win a major honour in his career, has scored 73 goals in 74 games since his £86 million move from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
