Czech police have classified Rangers' UEFA Conference League play-off second leg in Jablonec as a high-risk encounter, citing potential disruption from unruly supporters.
Security measures announced
The Regional Police Headquarters of the Liberec Region issued a statement ahead of the Scottish fans' visit, confirming that the match has been assessed as high-risk. The statement noted that "some unruly club supporters and spectators could disrupt public order."
Rangers travel to the Czech Republic holding a one-goal advantage from the first leg of the play-off. The second leg is scheduled at the Stadion Strelnice, which has a capacity of just 5,690.
Police preparations
Given the expected high attendance, including foreign fans, the Czech Republic Police have prepared security measures aimed at ensuring public order, peace, and security in Jablonec nad Nisou and its surroundings. Riot police units will supervise public order, supported by dog handlers with service dogs. Members of the Anti-Conflict Team of the Regional Police Headquarters of the Liberec Region will also play a role.
Fans have been advised to arrive at the venue well in advance, as thorough security checks at all stadium entrances are expected to slow passage through the gates.
